The United States has had a long history of political injustice. People don’t realize that there is injustice towards Latinos, blacks, and other minorities. As you can see in the media or on social networks, black people are often referred to as thugs. Drug dealers, gangsters. Rapists. It is not the very first time blacks or latinos were accused of this characteristic. Since slavery, Jim Crow laws have been in place and blackface has also been a part of the history. It is evident that the world is more open to video and camera phones, which instantly record history as it has happened for many decades. Now, it is in front of everyone’s eyes. In 2016, the white cops who shot 194 black men will serve as a perfect example of how social injustice is now in our face.

An example of this was the shooting death of Keith Scott. In the video, the officer shoots the 43-yearold man after seeing the SUV stalled on the highway. The victim’s hands were not up as the police stated, despite the fact that the video clearly showed this. Trayvon, a black man and woman as well as a child were all killed in the same year. Philanda castingile, who was killed by her fiance in Minnesota in front of a car camera, was also featured in another video. Castile’s bloody death was captured in graphic images, and the video shows him bleeding from gunshots. He had been shot three times by an officer because his taillight was busted.

America has always been a vertiginous country.

Byan Stewardson tells his story in “Just Mercy”, a book he wrote about his time living in Alabama. Bryan Stevenson was arrested for a crime he committed and he realized the injustice. His grandmother had been a slave. He speaks about the injustices that are done to black people, women, children, and poor people.

Injustice is a huge problem in today’s society. Stevenson claims that the treatment of blacks was due to their skin colour. Racism can have terrible consequences and lead to other issues, such as division and separation based on race. It is unjust to treat people in this way. If slavery was abolished, then discrimination in America and unfairness should be eliminated.
